Zoë Alexander

Class of 2013

Registered Nurse

Zoë graduated from LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in May 2020 and jumped into her career in caring and treating the children of the Greater New Orleans area at Children’s Hospital, where she worked previously while in school. A couple of years into her career, she is now taking more leadership roles by precepting new nurses, as well as students, encouraging them to take on the nurse advocate and educator role for their patients (and parents) who may be too young to speak for themselves.

“It still surprises me when I talk to my friends I’ve met since graduating from McGehee to find that they don’t still have a close relationship with someone they went to high school with. I don’t think I go more than a few days without talking to someone from the McGehee family, whether it’s a former classmate, a teacher, or another alumna who graduated years before or after me."
