The purpose of the Distinguished Alumnae Award is to recognize and acknowledge the significant contributions being made by our alumnae in many fields of endeavor. The award honors alumnae who represent a range of excellence in vocation, community service, character, and/or service to McGehee.
The award recipients are honored on Founder’s Day at the Founder’s Day Assembly and then at a reception in their honor. Award recipients are presented with an Award Certificate and a gift from the School during the Founder’s Day Assembly.

Guidelines for Distinguished Alumnae Award Nominations
The nomination form below must be completed and returned to the Alumnae Office by October 14. Additional letters of support from classmates are helpful, but not required. A recipient must have attended McGehee. Recipients need not be from reunion classes.
The Distinguished Alumnae Award Committee meets in December to select the current year’s recipient(s) and announces the recipient(s) at the Winter Alumnae Association Board and Class Representative Meeting.
It is preferred that all recipients are able to attend the Founder’s Day activities, although, attendance is not a prerequisite for receiving the Distinguished Alumnae Award.
