Izzi Dennis

College Choice: Suffolk University
College Major: Political Science - Public Policy and Law Concentration

Izzi Dennis stated, “McGehee has instilled in me a resolute sense of right and wrong, as well as a strong sense of self. It's taught me to be assertive and the importance of learning. It's also made me a pretty good writer.” As a Mock Trial team member from 10-12th grades, Izzi has played a witness, a lawyer and worked alongside team members to prove cases, becoming accomplished in the art of debate. It was teacher Carolyn Thompson who inspired her to become interested in politics, pushing her out of her comfort zone to join the Mock Trial team, and now Izzi’s plans include majoring in Political Science, Public Law and Law Concentration.

Jeanie Osborne, her first advisor, taught her to “take risks, trust my instincts, stay curious, to ask for help when I need it, to always try my best, and to find just a little bit of joy in everything I do.”

Izzi is thrilled to be heading to Boston for college and loves the area and the feel of the campus. With several honors programs as options, Suffolk's honors program was her favorite.

When it comes to favorite McGehee traditions, Izzi names big sis, l’il sis, as her personal favorite, remarking that she remains close to both her big and little sisters.
