Gigi Cusimano

College Choice: University of Colorado Boulder

When asked about her McGehee experience, Gigi Cusimano remarked, “I love the school and I have loved all my teachers at McGehee. They helped me grow as a student and expand my knowledge.” 

In addition to summer camp, community service, student clubs, and academics, running has been a major part of Gigi’s life. She loves the sport and that is evident by her great athleticism in soccer, track and field, and cross country. She wrote, “Without soccer, I would not have met other people from different schools around the New Orleans area. I would have also not had the delightful experience of bonding with students from different grades at McGehee.” As a runner she put her skills to the test by running track and eventually cross country as well. And, what a way to cap off her senior year with the state championship trophy in Track & Field. Go Hawks!

Gigi’s family has traveled often to Colorado to visit her eldest sister who lives in Vail, so she is very familiar with the area and thrilled to be attending the University of Colorado, Boulder in the fall.
