Ella Fischer

College Choice: Wentworth Institute of Technology
College Major: Mechanical Engineering

As Editor-in-Chief of The Spectator, McGehee’s yearbook, Ella knows a thing or two about organization and deadlines, and her work on Melange, the school’s literary magazine, has taught her a lot about content review and publications in general. As a member of the Mock Trial team for the last two years, Ella Fischer learned a lot about analysis, writing, direct and cross examinations, and being comfortable thinking on the spot. In addition to these responsibilities, Ella has held several leadership roles at McGehee, including Junior Class President, and has served as Class Secretary twice during her high school years.

She is a big fan of the fine arts, performing in the Upper School Musical each spring and singing in the choir from Grades 9-12. Ella’s favorite McGehee tradition is performing the senior song. She wrote, “I was excited for that part of my high school career from the start of freshman year. I love that I was able to do something special for the rest of my class.”

She is excited to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology in the fall, which is located right in the heart of Boston. Ella commented, “The biggest factor for my final college choice was probably location. I didn't want to be in the south, because I've been here my whole life and I am ready for a change.”
