Coco Prokop

College Choice: Skidmore College
College Major: Psychology

Coco Prokop was accepted (early decision) to Skidmore College as a recruited tennis player on their Division III team. Athletic Director, Scott Western has this to say about her time at McGehee, “Coco has been playing varsity tennis since 8th grade. She has always been one of the top players in the state in our division, and we are so proud of her for winning the regional championship this year and making it to the finals at State. As a senior, her leadership skills flourished and she was well respected by the younger members of her team. Coco is a big reason why the varsity tennis team won its first state championship in tennis.”

Of her experience at McGehee, Coco wrote, “I have gained a sense of independence through the curriculum and structure of McGehee. This independence will be valuable while going through yet another transition, and this time it is college. McGehee has taught me to advocate for myself, I know how I hold myself and have learned to be proud of myself and my accomplishments.” Further, she said, “I have met some of the most amazing people in the world, my best friends, at this school. I will probably stay close to these people for the rest of my life and for that I have McGehee to thank.”

She credits Ms. Thompson for being a motivational teacher, and said, “It's a breath of fresh air to be in a class with her, and be surrounded by her wonderfully silly and happy personality.”

Coco is thrilled to be attending Skidmore in the fall.
