Annie Lemmon

College Choice: Loyola New Orleans
College Major: Psychology

Annie Lemmon has been accepted to University of Southern Mississippi, University of Kentucky, where she received the Bluegrass Spirit Scholarship, and Loyola NOLA, where she received Recognition and Legacy Scholarships, University of South Alabama, Centre College, and Sewanee. Annie will attend Loyola University New Orleans.

Annie joined McGehee’s Class of 2023 for her junior year and feels that McGehee has prepared her for college in many ways. She commented, “McGehee has taught me how to be independent and use my voice when something troubles me, and not to stand for something that upsets me. McGehee has taught me what it takes to make it in college, as well as what hard work really does for a person.” Annie thanks Ms. Thompson for, “inspiring me through these two years I have been at McGehee. She taught me how to focus and push myself to my greatest potential. She taught me what it is like to be so passionate about something that all you want to do is study it. She pushed me to realize that working with kids in the foster care system is my passion and what I want to do with my life.”

Annie’s favorite McGehee memory has been playing for the basketball team. She wrote, “Being a part of that community and team gave me confidence and allowed me to embrace myself. I created great memories and experiences on the court.”

Her parting words before she graduates are, “McGehee is the place to go!”
