ELIZABETH ENGELHARDT

College Choice: Auburn
College Major: Business Analytics

Athlete, team captain, member of the 14-Year Club, and much more, senior Elizabeth Engelhardt was accepted into her first choice college and can’t stop smiling. She remarked, “I have been wanting to go to Auburn ever since I was three years old. Growing up, my mom and I were both big Auburn fans while my dad and brother were Alabama fans, so I have always known that Auburn was where I wanted to go to college.”

Throughout her years at McGehee, Elizabeth has been “all in” especially so in her dedication to sports. From club and varsity volleyball and soccer to Track & Field, she loves competing as well as leadership roles, serving as the Captain of both JV and Varsity Volleyball as well as Captain of the Varsity Soccer team. When asked about an influential faculty member, Elizabeth wrote, “Coach Western has definitely inspired me not only on an educational level but also on an athletic level. Whenever I need help or am having trouble with a decision he is there to help talk me through it and calm me down in high stress situations.”

She credits McGehee's teaching style for helping her become an independent learner as well as how to advocate for herself when it comes to needing help.

Recently, Elizabeth competed alongside her fellow Hawks at the Regional Track Championship Meet and was named regional runner up in the long jump and regional champion in the triple jump. Wishing her every success at the state meet as well as at Auburn in the fall!
