Creation Station Dedication

Our maker lab has an official name!
On Monday December 17, students from 5th through 8th grade demonstrated the powerful effect our beautiful new STEAM space has had on them as they described their ingenious projects to the assembled group. Members of the Board and Dr. Kim Field-Marvin were at hand to thank alumnae Miggy Shannon Monroe ‘73 and Charlotte Christman ‘73 for this wonderful gift to McGehee. STEAM teacher Allie Manker gave an overview of the amazing benefits of STEAM studies for our girls as they develop skills of imagination, problem-solving, resilience and teamwork. After a middle-school wide competition to come up with a unique name for our STEAM Lab, 7th graders Addie Jaynes and Cecilia Skeen presented a plaque made on our own Glowforge bearing their winning suggestion - welcome McGehee community, to our fabulous Creation Station!
