Dr. Melanie Sheen is a board certified hematologist/medical oncologist with a special interest in the treatment of breast cancer. She received her Bachelors of Arts degree in communications from the University of Pennsylvania, then attended medical school at Tulane University, followed by Internal Medicine Residency at Tulane University Hospital. Melanie completed a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she worked with leading experts across hematologic and solid tumor malignancies. She has conducted clinical research, published articles, and presented abstracts at both local and national conferences. Her interest in breast cancer care extends from targeted therapy and chemotherapy to clinical research and high-risk consultations.

She is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Practice Guideline Implementation Network, critiquing and approving national guidelines for the treatment of cancer care. Melanie is currently practicing with Crescent City Physicians, Inc., a subsidiary of Touro Infirmary. She is the proud new mother of
Aylin Moriah Tucker, born in November.
