Third Grade completed their Economy unit in Social Studies which included producing and selling their Marketplace projects to their peers. The theme was paper, and each student brainstormed ways they could create a product made from different kinds of paper. Their products included: bookmarks, snowflakes, fortune tellers, purses, puzzles, bracelets, monsters, books, and many more. The students earn McGehee money each week as part of their classroom jobs. They used those funds to buy supplies, create and make their products, create a commercial and a sign, and sell their products to their peers. Students were also required to create a budget in order to buy the correct amount of products from the Marketplace. This year's Marketplace was a huge success! Check out a couple of the girls’ commercials here and here.
