5th Grade Louisiana History Field Trip

Girls visited the French Quarter.
Each year the fifth grade visits the French Quarter to visit the places they learn about while studying the history of our city.  This year the Class of 2027 visited the Gallier House Museum and The Historic New Orleans Collection’s new facilities for a tour where the girls explored a manuscript written in 1729 by a visitor from France describing the city. The group also enjoyed a personal demonstration by the craftspeople at Bevolo, who make gas lanterns for local and international sales. (We are fortunate that Chris King, Learning Specialist Julie King’s husband is willing to host us each year.)  Lunch at Jackson Square and a visit to the Cabildo and St. Louis Cathedral rounded out the trip
