The Kindergarten classes spent a beautiful fall day on a swamp tour at Jean Lafitte National Park. The girls have been studying swamps and wetlands and enjoyed exploring the plants and wildlife of Barataria Reserve. Alison Wells, the K art teacher, accompanied them and brought the students’ sketchbooks for them to sketch the wildlife they observed. They spotted alligators, turtles, cypress trees covered with Spanish moss, palmetto plants and cat tails. A picnic was the perfect ending to their adventure.
