Graduation Day

Graduation at McGehee is always beautiful!
Despite a few sprinkles, McGehee's beautiful commencement ceremony took place on the front lawn of the Bradish Johnson house. Following the faculty processional, the freshmen -- the Class of 2022 -- carried in the daisy chain they created for the seniors. Jaida Felix, the Student Body President, welcomed the crowd. Following the invocation by the Upper School choir were remarks from faculty member Sarah Westfall, Dr. Kim Field-Marvin, the Headmistress, Debby Pigman, Interim Upper School Head and  Meredith Maxwell Strachan ‘97, Co-President of the Alumnae Association. A valedictory address was given by our two valedictorians, Julia Beery and Lucy Bryan. Class President Rosie Odem reflected on her class and concluded with a first for McGehee, a graduation class selfie! The traditional turning of the rings preceded the awarding of diplomas. Congratulations to our fantastic seniors! Read more about their honors and college destinations below.
