Marion Strauss NYU Tisch School of the Arts Class of 2019 McGehee Class of 2015
Marion Strauss is a rising senior at NYU Tisch School of the Arts pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Drama. During her first two years of college, Marion studied in Tisch’s Musical Theatre studio where she played Little Sally in a production of Urinetown. She spent last fall in London studying acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where she played Hotspur in a production of Henry IV Part I. Marion is currently studying acting in Tish’s Experimental Theatre Wing (ETW), where she played Morse in a production of One Flea Spare. She will spend her senior year continuing her acting study in ETW. Marion's goal for her senior year is to find an opportunity to direct a play and to create and/or be a part of an activist theatre piece whose aim is to spark social change.
She credits the McGehee faculty and administration for being so supportive of her as she pursued acting training at NOCCA during her high school years at McGehee. Marion says, “[McGehee Faculty] were always willing to meet with me to make sure that my ability to perform well academically was not compromised by my spending half days at NOCCA. If I hadn’t attended McGehee and NOCCA, I really do not know if I would be studying at Tisch right now. I am so thankful for the constant love and support I received during my time at McGehee."
