Find Your Courage

Her teacher-mentor-role models, recognized experts in girls education, inspire even as they challenge. They show her it’s okay to make a mistake – to sometimes fail when you boldly attempt something new. Year after year, she takes more and more chances in the classroom. She asks bigger questions and tries new thinking on for size, keeping or discarding different ideas as she matures. She is truly learning. She is a fearless young woman.

I think that's the most valuable thing McGehee helped me find, ability to fail with grace. Maybe “fail” isn't the right word. But when things haven't worked out completely in my favor, it was never the end of the world. And after “failing” got to be not so scary, going after everything I wanted out of life seemed not so scary as well.
