Elizabeth "Ella" Baumgarten

College Choice: Centre
Major: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Ella will attend Centre College, with plans to major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and received a full scholarship through the Brown Fellowship. In addition to her intellectual acumen, she is quite an exceptional chef, thanks to spending her afternoons in NOCCA’s Culinary Arts Program. She keeps her classmates well fed, frequently bringing homemade treats to senior study. When asked to comment on a faculty member who inspired her she had this to say, “I don't really think I can just choose just one teacher who inspired me. I would like to thank all my teachers, but especially the ones that taught me senior year-- Mrs. Wiseman, Dr. Cresson, Mr. Waguespack, Mr. Waddington, Mr. McLetchie.” Her favorite school tradition is singing on the stairs. “I loved watching the older girls when I was younger, but it became an even more special experience watching my classmates in it the past few years. I enjoyed it especially this year because of the senior song and it was a really emotional moment and showed me just how far I have come at McGehee.”
