Elise Gaar

College Choice: Loyola Chicago

As Co-Founder and President of the local based organization, Rise to the Occasion, Elise Gaar has enjoyed working alongside civically minded youth to educate others on the importance of voting. While active in many school clubs at McGehee, Elise has been a part of the Mock Trial team since ninth grade. When asked about how her teachers had impacted her, she remarked, “The faculty at McGehee has always supported my ideas and made me a more well rounded student by treating me like an adult.” And while Elise said she has so many faculty members she could thank, she said, “Mrs. Fallon has always listened to me and supported me even outside of school. Mr. Waddington has always challenged me and moved me in the right direction. I could go on forever!”
