PreK/ Kindergarten Teacher
 
The Louise S. McGehee School is now accepting applications for a dynamic, innovative, full-time Teacher for the lower school who enthusiastically invests his or herself in all aspects of the education process and the school-wide community. Qualified candidates will possess an undergraduate degree in education, strong classroom management skills, and will have at least two years of classroom teaching experience at the PreK and/or Kindergarten level, ideally in an all-girls or independent school setting. Desired teaching skills include knowledge/experience in the following areas: multiple forms of assessment, student differentiation, early childhood development, and curriculum design. Master’s degree in education is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a passion for teaching and leading.
  • Teach with an exceptional understanding of learning at the PreK/K level.
  • Create dynamic sequential lesson plans that meet the needs of the students and include hands-on, inquiry based activities.
  • The teacher should be creative in the use of age-appropriate techniques and technologies
  • Willingness to participate in scheduled duties such as carpool, recess, lunch, etc. .
  • Be an active member of the lower school faculty.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with faculty, students, and parents.
 
Middle School/ Upper School Spanish Teacher
 
The Louise S. McGehee School is now accepting applications for a dynamic, innovative Spanish Teacher for the middle school and upper school who enthusiastically invests his or herself in all aspects of the Spanish education process and the school-wide community. Qualified candidates will possess a native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and will have at least two years of classroom teaching experience, ideally in an all-girls or independent school setting. Master’s degree in education or Spanish-related field is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a passion for teaching and leading
  • Teach with an exceptional understanding of the Spanish language.
  • Create dynamic sequential lesson plans to meet the needs of the students.
  • Willingness to participate in student advisory, club sponsorship, carpool, lunch supervision, etc.
  • Be an active member of the MS and US faculty in planning cross-curricular events.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with faculty, students, and parents.

9th Grade Conceptual Physics and 12th Grade Environmental Science Teacher
 
The Louise S. McGehee School is now accepting applications for a dynamic, innovative Physics and Environmental Science Teacher for the upper school who enthusiastically invests his or herself in all aspects of the science education process and the school-wide community. Qualified candidates will possess an educational background in Conceptual Physics and Environmental Science and will have at least two years of classroom teaching experience, ideally in an all-girls or independent school setting. Master’s degree in education or science-related field is preferred.
