The Louise S. McGehee School offers financial assistance to qualified students on the basis of the demonstrated financial need of the family, as well as the availability of funds. All financial aid transactions are kept strictly confidential by the Financial Aid Committee. Parents are required to keep this information confidential, as well.
To apply for financial aid, answer “Yes” to the financial aid question on the Application for Admission. Once you have applied for Admission, information about how to apply for Financial Aid will be forwarded to you via email. Applying for financial aid does not influence decisions regarding admission.
The Financial Aid Committee works diligently to ensure that the process is fair and impartial. In order to achieve this goal, we use the Student Services (SSS) form provided by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The SSS report provides McGehee with information concerning a family’s ability to contribute to their child(ren)’s education based on a formula accepted nationally by independent schools.
Deadlines for completing Financial Aid applications are February 10 for new applicants and February 1 for returning families. Failure to meet those deadlines may jeopardize your award.
All financial aid is awarded in the form of a grant and does not need to be paid back. The amount each family receives varies considerably depending upon a family’s financial circumstances, as well as time of application.
