"Passing on the Pride!" This is the new motto of the Varsity Volleyball team and you will see team members with this most appropriate slogan emblazoned on their t-shirts. We can all take pride in today's McGehee.

 

Passing on the Pride in developing girls of character - at McGehee, we are committed to who a student will become as well as what they will know. Our faculty promotes a "culture of intimacy" where each girl is valued for herself.

 

Passing on the Pride through community service - at McGehee, students and faculty contribute sweat equity in the local community: tutoring in public schools, visiting nursing homes and cleaning up the environment. These programs produce lifelong civic engagement in our students.

 

Passing on the Pride through multiculturalism - at McGehee, all students benefit from our diverse student population. At 18%, McGehee has the highest ratio of student diversity of any independent school in the city. Our girls leave for college well-prepared for today's global society.

 

Passing on the Pride through achievement - at McGehee our students become exceptional through hard work and optimal conditions for learning: the best faculty, small class sizes and a wide variety of curricular offerings.

 

Quality in education is expensive. Our Annual Giving campaign allows us to maintain this level of education by supplementing critical areas throughout the school such as faculty salaries - eighty cents in every dollar given goes towards faculty salaries - technology, libraries, classroom materials, athletics and community service. 

 

Tuition and fees fall short of actual yearly costs to educate each McGehee girl. This year, the "Gap" between tuition and real cost is $1,300. Contributions to Annual Giving help bridge this gap. Without Annual Giving tuition costs would increase significantly, putting the cost of a McGehee education out of the reach of many of our families.

 

Your involvement is important. No matter what size donation you choose to make, we welcome it. Parent participation in Annual Giving is one of the factors considered by foundations and corporations when we ask for their support. Your gift can be made here at Make a Gift to McGehee; by check; by Visa/MasterCard/AMEX; or by a gift of appreciated securities. You may make a pledge and pay in installments before June 30, 2010. All gifts to McGehee are fully tax deductible to the amount allowed by law.
