The McGehee Swim Team had a very strong Meet at Elmwood. We finished in the top 3 in 10 of the 11 events.
McGehee won 4 events, was 2nd 4 times and 3rd twice.
Here are the individual results-
Amanda G. won her 2 events the 50 Free and the 100 Fly.
Morgan H. won the 200 Free and was 2nd in the 100 Free.
Carly D. was 2nd in the 100 Back and was 2nd in the 200 IM.
Amanda M. made 2 STQT Times. Amanda was 3rd in the 100 Breast and 5th in the 200 Free.
Our 3 Relay Teams won the 200 Free Relay, was 2nd in the 200 Medley Relay and was 3rd in the 400 free Relay.
Ellie P. was 4th in the 100 Breast.
Elizabeth D. was 8th in the 100 Free.
Sara R. was 8th in the 100 Fly.

The Middle School swim team had a great second meet at UNO. After getting our feet wet in the first meet (literally!), the girls really got down to business at this meet. It should be noted that every single McGehee swimmer dropped time from their first meet which is absolutely astounding! Some notable time drops were Breanna M. dropping 15 seconds in her 50 free style and Tasha G. dropping 6 seconds in her 50 breaststroke. All of the girls swam very well and were very pleased with the results. |

McGehee swam it's first Duel in school history against top 10 5A State Ranked Dominican at UNO and competed well in a 116-56 loss.
The girls swam an incredible 17 Best Times.
Individual top 3 finishers were-
Amanda G. 1st in the 50 Free and 1st in the 100 Fly in a personal best time of 1:03.03 Morgan H. was 1st in the 500 Free and 2nd in the 200 Free in a personal best time of 2:05.65 Alexandra H. was 3rd in the 100 Back in a personal best time of 1:19.79 and also swam a best time of 6:31.55 a D4QT in the 500 Free.
Our 3 Relays were 1st in the 200 Medley, 2nd in the 200 Free Relay and 3rd in the 400 Free Relay.

Middle School at UNO |
McGehee especially shined at this third meet. Placing 7th overall, the girls continued to drop time in almost every event. Special mention goes to Caroline A., Sarah M., and Sofia C. for swimming their first ever individual medley events. They all did exceptionally well for first time swimmers in this event.
Alexandra H. swam her personal best in the 50 freestyle- 29.85. Congratulations! Congratulations also to the medley relay team of Caroline A., Sofia C., Alexandra H., Sarah M. and the 200 freestlye relay of Sarah M., Sofia C., Catherine A., and Alexandra H. for wonderful performances in both events. |

Varsity West Distric Championships at UNO |
The McGehee Swim Team scored a School record 303 points in the West District Championship Meet. McGehee finished 4th behind 2 4A teams and 1 3A team. In 28 Entries 25 McGehee entries scored points!
 Amanda G. is the District Champion in the 50 Free with a best time of 25.49 and District Champion in the 100 Fly.
Morgan H. is the District Champion in the 200 Free with a best time 2:05.33.
Our 200 Free Relay team of Alexandra H.,Amanda G.,Morgan H. and Amanda M. was 1st and District Champions. McGehee's 200 Medley Relay was 2nd.

Middle School Championships at UNO

Middle School swimmers did very well at the Championship meet. McGehee placed 6th overall, a great result for a first year team.
Alexandra H. finished 3rd overall in the 200 free, 4th overall in the 50 fly, and 5th overall in the 100 IM.
Sophia C. swam a personal best time in the 50 breaststroke, and scored points in both the 50 breaststroke and the 100 IM.
Rachael M. swam her personal best time of 53.00 seconds in the 50 breaststroke, and also scored points in this event. The A and B medley relay teams scores 8th and 9th overall, respectively. The A and B relay team scored 9th and 12th overall, respectively. The A free relay team of Alexandra H., Sarah M., Madeleine B., and Sophia C. swam a middle school best time of 2:18.51. Both Sarah M. and Sophia C. swam personal best relay splits in this race.

Varsity Metro Championships at UNO |
We had another record performance at the Metro Championships this weekend at UNO. McGehee finished in the top 10 for the first time finishing 9th out of 23 Teams scoring 110 points nearly doubling last years total. Mcgehee was the highest finishing team other than a 5A or 4A team. We finished behind the 5A State Champ, 3rd and 5th place team and the 4A State Champ and 4A State Runner Up.
Every entry in the meet swam a best time. Our 200 Medley Relay took 7th in a best time of 2:03.79. Morgan H. was 5th in the 200 Free in a best time of 2:03.54 and won the Consolation Heat in the 100 Free in 57.15 another best time. Amanda G. was 2nd in the 50 Free in a best time of 25.15 and she was 5th in the 100 Fly in another best time of 1:02.87. Alexandra H. swam a best time of 2:21.75 in the 200 Free. Our 200 Free Relay team took 3rd behind the 5A State Champion Relay of Northshore in a McGehee record best time of 1:49.54.

McGehee finished 4th. At the Division 4 State Swimming Championships in Sulphur, LA for the second straight year.
Amanda G. is the 50 Free State Champion for the second straight year. Amanda swam a personal best time of 25.13 seconds.
McGehee had 2 Relays and 4 individual swimmers make All State.
Our 200 Medley Relay of Carly D., Ellie P., Amanda G. and Morgan H. was 2nd in a McGehee record time of 2:01.71 and All State.
Our 200 Free Relay Team of Morgan H., Carly D., Alexandra H. and Amanda G. was 2nd in a team record time of 1:49.14 and All State.
Amanda G. is the 50 Free State Champion and was 3rd in the 100 Fly and All State in that event.
Morgan H. was 2nd in the 200 Free and 3rd in the 500 Free and All State in both events. Alexandra H. was 8th in the 500 Free in personal best time of 6:17.06. She cut 14 seconds in this race ! Alexandra H. was also 11th in the 200 Free in a personal best time of 2:21.00. Carly D. was 7th in the 100 Back and 5th in the 200 IM in a best time of 2:19.18. Ellie P. was 12th in the 100 Breaststroke. Amanda M. was 15th in the 100 Breaststroke.
McGehee is now one of the premiere Swimming programs in Division 4. Congratulations Girls on a great season! |
